Every Friday afternoon, my school has a sports day, and sometimes the teachers get to join in, too. At my school, suprisingly, basketball is the most popular sport (even though soccer is definitely the biggest sport in Rwanda). Students only get to practice sports one day per week after school. This is very different from where I grew up! I used to have soccer practice for three hours per day, five days per week, and then games on weekends.
In my Kinyarwanda class, I am learning names for family members. It is a bit challenging since they have five different words for "brother" and five different words for "sister," depending on the age and gender of the person speaking. But I love starting my Tuesday and Thursday mornings with some Kinyarwanda exercises!
