I was terrified when I was first told I'd be working at a therapeutic center. I didn't know what the center or the people would be like. All I knew was that I would have to speak entirely in Spanish! I decided to take the chance and try something new. In the process, I learned so much about disability access in Querétaro. I also learned a lot about rehabilitation, and myself.
At CENENE, we work with children with neurological and motor disabilities or complicating factors from a difficult pregnancy. I learned that clinics such as CENENE are an invaluable resource for families with disabled children as they not only provide the physical therapy that the children need but also the guidance and support that the parents require.
There is a need for informed, caring aid in assisting children with disabilities to exercise their capacities and gain motor skills. CENENE does an incredible job of creating a space where parents and children can come together as a community to discuss what they need and get the assistance that is necessary for each child.
