I sat down with my fellow teacher Bettina this week in order to get a better glimpse into the life of an ordinary German.
Bettina Christmann
I live in a small village near Annweiler. It's called Wernersberg. Bigger cities around my home village are Kaiserslautern (about 40 km or 25 miles); Mannheim (about 50 km or 31 miles). Wernersberg is in the Pfälzer Wald (Palatine Woods). So we are surrounded by woods.
I live in a detached house with a garage and a small garden. It's in a housing estate with a lot of young families with small children who are always playing on the streets. We have a kitchen, a dining and living room combined, an office, two bathrooms (one is for guests) and three bedrooms.
My family consists of me, my husband and my two children (a boy of eight and a girl of five)
I drive by car. There is hardly any public transport in Wernersberg. Only a few buses a day come through.
