Cooking and eating are some of the most well-known aspects of Italian culture. In order to participate in the culture further, I decided to learn how to make a traditional Italian dessert recipe. I had so much fun learning something I'll be able to enjoy cooking for the rest of my life!
The food I "cooked" and then ate was tiramisu. I say "cooked" because in reality there is no actual cooking, just preparing and freezing. Tiramisu is a rich layered dessert that consists of cookies dipped in coffee, a layer of cream made from eggs sugar, and mascarpone cheese, and, finally, plenty of cocoa powder!
Eating the tiramisu was extra fun because I made it myself! I felt satisfied knowing I learned a new skill. If you like chocolate and coffee flavors, you should give this dessert a try!
First, you dip cookies called ladyfingers in coffee and lay them out on the bottom of your pan. Next, you create the cream by mixing egg, sugar, and mascarpone cheese. You then cover the cookies with a thick layer of the cream. Finally, you sprinkle cocoa powder on top!
