Adiós for Now: My Farewell from Peru

Journal Entry:

Dear Señora Cassidy's Class,

Wow! It's hard to believe it's already time to say goodbye. What a joy it has been getting to share my story with you as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Amazonas, Peru. I especially looked forward to our videocalls together. You were always so engaged and asked the best questions. I'll miss those for sure.

We talked about a lot during our time together! We discussed everything from coffee trees and the mountainous jungle landscape of my region to everyday things like the price of a bottle of water or the traditions and foods I've been enjoying here. I hope you found my stories interesting and maybe even learned a thing or two. But before I say adios for good, I want to remind you a little bit about the Peace Corps. The Peace Corps sends U.S. Americans to communities abroad that request a Volunteer to assist in sustainable development initiatives. Whether you're a teacher, scientist, engineer, farmer, or something else, there's likely an opportunity for you in the Peace Corps! I encourage you to learn more at PeaceCorps.gov.

Finally, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Señora Cassidy and the team at Reach the World for organizing this experience. But more importantly, I want to thank YOU all. Your enthusiasm and engagement over the last few months have really made this journey special. Thanks again for everything.
