Thank you all for such an amazing few weeks being able to share my time here in Peru and learn about you guys as well. I hope that some, if not all, of the things I shared helped broaden your global perspectives a little bit more.
I am super fortunate to have been given the opportunity by the Peace Corps to work abroad and help to develop good health practices here in my community. While you all know that I am a health volunteer here in Peru, I wanted to aknowledge the existence of many other Peace Corps programs. Here in Peru, we have programs for water sanitation and hygiene, youth development, and community and economic development. In other parts of the world, there are many other programs as well, such as teaching Engish or agriculture practices. Without this opportunity, my Spanish language skills would not be what they are today, and I wouldn't have met the amazing people who are a part of my community. I wish that I had known about the Peace Corps when I was younger, so I am happy to share this experience with you in the hopes that you keep this or any other international opportunities on part of your radar as you are finishing school.
As you are on your journeys through school, I urge you to think and reflect about what parts of life are important to you and how to maximize your enjoyment of these parts.
