Hi everyone! I heard you had your first frost of the season! In Spain, it is still high 60s and sunny, but there have been afternoon rainstorms which is actually really nice! My classes are so much fun-- I have pictures of my “model box” that I was telling you all about on the zoom!
I learned about the Zombie Walk Tradition! It is a parade of different people dressed up in scary costumes such as zombies, clowns, Frankenstein and bloody doctors!
Sitges have this tradition in order to bring light to their horror film festival that happens the same week. It is a free parade through the town and gets everyone excited for horror and art in general. Many tourists come to Sitges for the horror festival, and this event allows the city to gain a lot of money through the tourists coming to see the movies, panels and the parade. Sitges is also a huge supporter of arts, identity, LGBTQ+ rights and everything creative, so it is important to them to show their support of those things through this festival.
