If there's anything I've learned from this trip it would be the power of taking initiative alone. There are so many places I wouldn't have been able to visit, people I would've never met, if I didn't come up with a plan and execute it.

The truth is, studying abroad is a whirlwind of emotions. On one hand, it is incredibly exciting because you're in a completely new place. On the other, it can be lonely being away from all of your friends and family. One thing that kept me open, curious and active was understanding that the time I'm spending here would soon come to an end.

Looking back, I remember the exact weekend I became more proactive in exploring new cities and countries while abroad. During our program trip to Dresden (Southern Germany) on October 10th, a few of my peers mentioned how accessible Prague in the Czech Republic was from Dresden. I received the information they gave and made the decision to travel outside of Germany for the first time in the few weeks I'd been in the country.

I remember sitting at Letna Park in Prague, eating an egg sandwich for breakfast, coffee in hand, thinking about how grateful I was to be in a place this beautiful. And I've had this same feeling about every city and country I've visited since.
