The Warm, Wet Season in Zambia

Introduction:

It does not snow in Zambia because of its proximity to the equator. This is different from places like the northeast in the USA.

What makes this environment special or different?:

The environment in Zambia is different from where I come from, which is New York, USA. Zambia only has three seasons: a cool, dry winter from May to August; a hot, dry summer from September to November; and a warm, wet season from December to April. I am currently experiencing the warm, wet season. If I were in New York, I would be experiencing early spring. The biggest difference in the environment, in my experience, is that it does not snow here. I am used to four seasons and a cold and snowy winter.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

The parts of the environment that help people live here is the warm, wet season. It helps tremendously with farming and agriculture.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

Some challenges that people may face living in this environment is that the warm, wet season can cause flooding. My street has had some flooding where there is heavy rain, causing increases in traffic because cars have to drive even slower to go through puddles.
