Welcome back to another article! It’s been too long (I think only about a week), but so much has happened! While I absolutely ADORE Copenhagen and am getting used to being a “local,” Munich and Vienna were breaths of fresh air.
My core class, Neuroscience of Fear and Anxiety, and I flew together to Munich and went on several academic visits. At the end of the week, we had the chance to interview German locals about their healthcare system and how it differs from America’s and Denmark’s hospitals. We got valuable insight into their experiences with mental health and how the healthcare system impacts that.
For our academic visits, our class toured the Dachau Memorial Site, a development organization, the Deutsches Museum's health exhibit and sat in on a mini symposium at the Department of Psychiatry. These visits allowed us to gain knowledge of various sites that are important to this culture.
