In my eyes, becoming bilingual is a superpower that is very much achievable and very much worth it.
Learning a new language can be challenging, and it takes a lot of time and practice, but being out in the world and going to new places where people speak many different languages has shown me how important and rewarding it is to learn them. People here (and, I’m sure, in many other places as well) are extremely patient and supportive when I try to speak Spanish, and they help me with words and phrases when I get stuck. I have also learned that people do appreciate your trying, even when you are not fluent in the language and may not be saying everything correctly.
As I've experienced in Spain, language unites people and is around us everywhere, especially when traveling abroad. So, why not hone your own language superpower and see where it can take you?
