Being here has made me appreciate Spanish culture so much more, and I will cherish these experiences and teach those around me more about Spain and how people live here. Traveling so much has also taught me a lot about myself and my abilities; it has taught me how to step out of my comfort zone and has pushed me to think logistically, plan, problem solve and navigate completely new environments. Living somewhere far from home without knowing anyone to begin with gave me a lot of nerves, but it also felt very liberating. Being somewhere completely new by yourself can feel odd, but it can give you a lot of confidence and freedom to do what you want to do and be who you want to be. The skills and perspectives that I gained abroad will stay with me for the rest of my life. Just imagine what you could learn about the world and yourself if you go on your own journey!
Thank you, Mrs. Wiedel's class, for your enthusiastic engagement. Writing these articles and sharing my experiences, as well as talking to you all over video and hearing your questions and comments, has been really amazing, and I appreciate this opportunity. I hope that you all are inspired to go on your own journeys and follow your passions and curiosities around the world. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone! Adios (goodbye) and happy holidays!
