Argentina Through the Eyes of an Argentine Student

My mom would not let me walk/travel alone to school.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

Alejo: We don’t eat lunch at school, but after we get dimseed at lunch. We do have a snack of tea and cookies at 9:00 a.m. every day at school.

Alejo: My favorite snacks are Doritos, Turron, Snack de Salame (salami-flavored crackers), Goldfish and Takis.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Alejo: We speak castellano (Spanish) at school, and on Tuesdays we speak some English because we have English class. To say hello in Spanish, you say hola!

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Alejo: Common names include Manuel, Santiago, Benjamín, Clara, Mariana and Jose.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

Alejo: I study Language and Literature [this is what many students in the States call Language Arts], Mathematics, Geometry, Geography, Tapestry, History, English, and Natural Sciences.

What is your homework like?:

I forgot to ask this question...  sorry!

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

Alejo: I like to do my homework, play the guitar and play basquet (basketball). Sometimes I like to play video games, too. 

Who is your favorite famous person?:

Alejo: Manu Ginóbili and Messi. 

[Manu Ginóbili is a retired Argentine NBA basketball player.
