The weather in Panamá has been beautiful lately, now that we're in verano, or summer. While it's still hot, it's less humid than in other parts of the year and there's a nice, steady breeze.
I saw many animals on land and in the water, and I'm keeping a journal to share with you all. On land, I saw toucans, blue morpho butterflies, hummingbirds, bats and poison dart frogs. In the ocean, I saw parrotfish, whitetip reef sharks, spotted dolphins, puffer fish, garden eels, green sea turtles and many other critters.
I saw several five foot long whitetip reef sharks while scuba diving. I had never seen a tiburón, or shark, that was nearly the same size as me in the water before. I had only seen one nurse shark that was about three feet long and looked a lot like a catfish. Don't worry, though; neither of these tiburones are dangerous to humans.
