The best meal this week wasn't a meal for me, but rather a snack. During our time in the Atacama we had a workshop with the local Atacameno people. They let us try new types of corn and herbs that are native to the north of Chile that we had not tried before.
We had a music workshop where we got to see all of the instruments used by the Atacamenos native people of the Atacama Desert region. We had a local man show us how to play the different instruments, and we got to try them, too!
I had two favorite activities during this adventure. One was seeing the stars at night. The Atacama Desert region is the third best place in the world for seeing the stars. They were so visible in the sky! The other activity that I really enjoyed was swimming in the lagoon. We all decided to swim in it even though it was really cold! When we got out of it, we had dried salt on our bodies since the lagoon was so salty!
