There we explored the city's beautiful cathedrals, rode a cable car to the top of a mountain, ate at a little restaurant overlooking the area and then hiked all the way back down to Bregenz.
The hike itself was intense, with the incline at times being more than 25%. But there is something about nature that draws people together. Meeting us on their way up, there were many people, young and old, who greeted us with the phrase, "Was los?" Basically, this is the Austrian equivalent of saying, "'Sup, bro?"
My philosophy is: Play hard, work hard. As a PhD student, I spend a great deal of time researching sci-fi movies at the University of Konstanz. Research, of course, involves a lot of reading. But in my leisure time, I read adventure and horror fiction just for fun.
A few days ago I read E.T.A. Hoffmann's short story "Der Sandmann" (The Sandman). This is probably my sixth or seventh time reading it, and it's definitely one of my favorites.
None, unless hiking can be included!
Konstanz was abuzz with posters notifying citizens about the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. The university students even had a group that, on Friday for Future, gathered to discuss new ways that the government of Germany can continue to make a positive impact on the environment.
