Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

As I'm writing this, Halloween was last Thursday, so that was definitely the most fun! My school threw a Halloween party for us, so my friends and I got to paint pumpkins, watch Halloween movies and sing karaoke. I ate so much candy and had an absolute blast!

What did I read this week?:

I'm in the middle of reading a play for class that one of my professors wrote, which is pretty cool. Other than that, I mainly just read the Bible! This week, my friend from home and I are going through the Book of Colossians.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

My friend group mainly plays board games, and my favorite one is called Coup. It's a game all about trying to trick your friends, and I'm pretty bad at it, but I have a lot of fun playing.

Other news from this week:

The U.K. has an annual fireworks celebration, not unlike the Fourth of July in the U.S., but the celebration here takes place in November and for a different reason. Guy Fawkes Night is celebrated to remember the thwarted "Gun Powder Plot" to blow up the House of Parliament in 1605 by a group of rogues led by Guy Fawkes. Luckily, the group was betrayed, and British soldiers caught Fawkes and his conspirators before anything was exploded. Now, November 5th of every year is a day of celebration involving fairs, bonfires and fireworks. As I write this, that's tomorrow! Happy late Guy Fawkes Day, everyone!
