In Bilbao, the two official languages are Basque and Spanish. A lot of younger people speak English too, but it’s not as common as in some of the bigger Spanish cities like Barcelona or Madrid.
The currency here is the Euro (€)! The bills look a bit different, and there are coins for smaller amounts, like the 1€ coin!
A bottle of water usually costs between 50 cents and 1 euro.
The best meal I had this week was Spanish tortilla, which I learned to make in my gastronomy class! It’s like an omelette, made with eggs, potatoes, olive oil and sometimes onion (which is a huge debate in Spain)!
I still listen to a lot of American music, mostly R&B, but I’ve also been discovering more Spanish music thanks to my local friends. We even have some playlists together on Spotify!
The most fun activity this week was cooking my final meal in my gastronomy course. The chef was super nice, and I really enjoyed learning from him.
