At Gangneung, one must have 짬뽕순두부 (jjam-ppong-soon-du-bu) at Chodang Dubu Village (초당두부마을 cho-dang-doo-boo-ma-eul, literally "tofu village"). JJamppong is a Chinese-style spicy noodle soup, while soondubu is soft tofu. Korea has a famous soondubu soup (tofu soup), where the broth is made with red pepper paste and cooked with either meat, seafood or an assortment of vegetables along with the soft tofu. What makes this dish quite special is they mixed those two Korean favorites into one dish.
The soup was served with rice and some pickled vegetable side dishes. It was somewhat spicy and a little salty, but overall quite flavorful.
