Southern Spain’s climate is part of the reason why many say the culture here is friendlier than in the north. Granada has so much to offer, and if it doesn’t, something else is always close by. The Sierra Nevada mountains are just 30–60 minutes away for skiing; the nearest beach is about the same distance and there are countless beautiful hiking spots just a bus ride away.
I’ve discovered my favorite cafés, here, and I've become friendly with the baristas. My language school is a transient place, with students from all over the world coming and going, but I’ve been fortunate to connect with some amazing people while they were here. Granada is a city I can absolutely see myself living in again. I was so close to extending my study abroad for another semester, but in the end, I decided against it—Spain will always be here, but I only have two years left at Brown. Still, I’m incredibly grateful to have found this city!
