I felt really excited to try pad thai in Thailand! It is a dish I had tried before in the United States and really loved, so I knew it would be even more delicious in the place where it was created.
The food is prepared in a wok, which is a type of bowl-shaped cooking pan. In the wok, the person preparing the pad thai adds rice noodles, sugar, some vegetables, small shrimp, a fried egg, peanuts and tofu (made from beans called soybeans). Then, they season it with fish sauce (sauce made from fish). All of the ingredients are tossed and fried together to make a wonderful combination of flavors!
