My Life Before Russia

One time my teacher even took us through the old hospital rooms that were closed down and had not been altered. I may have missed my family, but I always wanted to learn more! During this time the only experience I had with foreign languages was taking three years of German in high school, it sounded too weird for me. I chased my dreams of being a business man in the Windy City of Chicago. It seemed as though every winter brought a new definition to the word cold, though I expect Moscow to give yet another new meaning to the word cold! While in Chicago, I only focused on school, turning to work when I came back home to Fayetteville every summer to visit my family.

Last year, I decided I wanted to learn a new language and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has opened up so many adventures to me.  So many people that I have met here in Russia who are not used to talking to an American in Russian feel like they have a friend in me. My dream job will be to work in Moscow after I am done with school, speaking the language I have spent so much time learning every day.  I hope you enjoy learning languages, too! Learning a language doesn't mean that  you have to live in the country whose language you speak, just practice all you can.

Now it's time to come with me through the cold and mysterious country that is Russia!  Our journey begins!

If you have time, here is a short drone video I took of my home town before leaving: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgDcw-44uPc
