Olá! My name is Papa Kofi Boateng, and I am a junior at Colby College in Maine, where I study biology with a concentration in neuroscience. I was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and raised in Ghana. Growing up between American and Ghanaian identities helped spark my interest in health, culture and community. I hope to become a doctor in the future.
This semester, I am studying comparative public health across Portugal, Greece and the Netherlands. I am excited to learn how different communities understand health and how culture influences people’s everyday lives. Outside the classroom, I enjoy traveling, photography, working out and meeting new people.
Through this journey, I will share the food, traditions, neighborhoods and people I encounter along the way. I am excited to explore Portugal with you, answer your questions and discover the similarities and differences between our communities!
