Servus! That’s how we say “greetings!” here in Austria. My name is Parker Wilson, and I am studying abroad in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria. I go to school in rural Ohio, where I am studying Economics and German. Ever since my first trip to Europe (specifically Germany and Italy) at age 12, it has been a dream of mine to come back and experience the area again.
Vienna is a diverse city, and is home to people from all over the world. It offers many different opportunities – from the many museums to the array of outdoor markets – to every person who comes. Some of my hobbies include rock climbing and cooking, but while I am here I hope to join a Jiu-jitsu club and maybe venture into the dancing scene! I will also be partaking in an internship to get a better sense of what it could be like to live and work in Austria. I hope that I can become more fluent in German and make many new friends during my stay.
As I have become more familiar with life in Vienna, I have come to realize how lucky it is that I can enjoy so many different cultures and opportunities in one place. I am so excited to be sharing my journey with you!
