It's pretty rainy! When the wind picks up and you see clouds on the horizon, it's a pretty clear sign rain is about to fall. However, the rain clouds are generally pretty small -- one field might receive a downpour while others stay bone dry. While the rains are quick to pour, they clear out just as fast. That's why most rainy days are also sunny days! It makes air drying laundry a real guessing game.
The animals I saw this week were either farm animals or wild reptiles. Evenings ring with cowbells as young boys and girls round up the cattle and herd them into their pens for the night. I saw one herd of sheep and many goats. Goats are subsidized by the Zambian government to make it cheaper to buy goat meat there, but instead, many farmers sell their goats in neighboring countries where they can get a higher price.
There are also lots of lizards here, and the rain brought out many frogs and toads, which keep getting into my house!
