Traveler Bio

Terve! Hello! My name is Peter Amicucci, but you can call me Pete. I am originally from Poughquag, New York, where I would play football and wrestling, listen to music, explore the Hudson Valley and take occasional trips to New York City. After high school, I packed up my car and headed to Scranton, Pennsylvania to study at the University of Scranton. There, I graduated at the top of my class with a bachelor's degree in Operations Management and minors in Mathematics and Business Analytics. In addition, I also conducted research on various topics, including supply chain management and economics. I decided at this time that I wanted to combine my passions for supply chain management and sustainability. An opportunity presented itself during my senior of college! I applied for the Fulbright U.S Student Program and was granted an award to further my research in Finland. I am excited to be here in Lappeenranta, Finland, which is known as one of the most sustainable cities in the world!

As of today, I am in my first semester at the Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), studying Supply Management with a minor in Sustainable Business. I plan to conduct a research project on how to create sustainable supply chains and sourcing in the travel and tourism industry. I enjoy plenty of activities, such as my membership in the Business Guild (Enklaavi), Erasmus Student Network, an international student organization, singing in the men's choir, playing trumpet in the Lappeenranta Big Band and, most importantly, exploring the beautiful nature of Lappeenranta and the surrounding area.

I look forward to all of you following me on this journey. I hope that you will learn about not just my journey, but all about Finnish culture!
