I make all of my own food, and last night I made "lid potatoes." That is when you bake potatoes and cut one end almost all the way. Then you hollow them out carefully, mash the insides with cheese and spices, and stuff the skins with that. The part that was almost cut off flips back over the stuffing like a lid. Mmmm.
This week I have been deciding what music I will study next. Lots of music was published during the baroque period (generally considered to be 1600-1750), but this was not for any specific instrument. Therefore, harpists and organists and lutenists could all play the same music. I've been listening to organ music to learn. But I've also been listening to American folk music because it makes me less homesick!
Easter is a huge thing in Switzerland. On Saturday, everyone in my house made pretty little baskets and baked and painted eggs. On Sunday, we all ate the little bread animals, which is apparently a Swiss tradition. And on Monday, we had a big brunch and gave each other the baskets and eggs! The whole weekend was super-fun! Out of the ten people I live with, only two are actually from Switzerland, so we got to hear about other traditions. One last deatil about Easter here: kids go around with baskets and "trick-or-treat" for painted eggs.
