Switzerland has four national languages: German is the most common and is spoken in central and northern Switzerland and a little in the south. Swiss German is slightly different from standard German. As a result, the Swiss Germans can understand German speakers from Germany, but not all native Germans can understand Swiss German! There is also Italian spoken in the south close to the border with Italy. French is spoken in the west; and Romansh is spoken mostly in the east. Romansh is a language specific to Switzerland. In Geneva, we speak French. I hope you understand all that!
The currency here is the Swiss franc. If you're in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, it's called a Franken. In Italian it's franco. The Swiss franc is almost equal to one US dollar (1chf = $1.03) which is helpful when I shop because I don't have to do very much conversion math!
In Geneva, everyone drinks tap water. The water here is very clean and tastes perfectly fine! I haven't seen any bottled water for sale. The Swiss are very concerned about climate change and environmental stewardship, so I think they try to avoid plastic bottles as much as possible.
