Together, the Shyakya tradition and building of mani-walls have proven to not just preserve the religion, culture, and identity of the Tsumba people, but have also protected the natural environment and resources from being over-harvested and over commodified. Together, these traditions have made Tsum Valley one of the most sacred places in Nepal, drawing in tourists and researchers from all over the world. There are currently many on-going efforts to preserve and continue these unique traditions present in Tsum Valley.
