Even though I have a daily routine, every day as a teacher in Korea is a little different. I work at two different schools, so the schedules, classes, office spaces and even the food can change depending on where I am. Today, I am going to walk you through what a typical Wednesday looks like for me, hour by hour.
6 am
Every day I wake up at 6:30 am to start my day. I like to sleep as long as I can without feeling rushed. I also really love coffee, so the first thing I do is brew a cup to help me wake up.
Dress rules for teachers in Korea are a little different than in some other countries. Teachers can usually wear what they want, but it has to look professional and not too revealing. For example, skirts should be long enough to cover your knees so you can bow politely, and shirts should cover your chest, and have sleeves.
Dress rules for students depend on the school. At my high school, all students wear uniforms. At my middle school, students do not wear uniforms, but they cannot wear heavy makeup or clothes that are too tight or too revealing.
7 am
At 7:30 am, I leave my apartment to catch the bus to work.
