Having native English speakers, like myself, come into classrooms all around the country to assist in teaching English also creates a cultural exchange. Through teaching English, I will be able to teach about the culture in the United States. They also have a similar program in the UK, where people come from the UK to assist in teaching English and share their culture as well. My roommate is here through that program from England!
I will be assisting in teaching English at the local university here in the town that I am living in named Santa Rosa. The university is called Universidad Nacional de La Pampa. Some of the classes that I will be assisting with are for university students that are studying to be future teachers of English. Other classes will be for students studying things like English literature or translation.
I start assisting teaching this week, and I can't wait to keep you updated on it and my other Argentine adventures!
