La Laguna (The Lagoon) in Santa Rosa

Introduction:

This week, I chose to write specifically about La Laguna Don Tomás (The Don Tomas Lagoon) here in Santa Rosa, La Pampa because it is such a large part of the community here where I am living and also a place that I have frequented since living here.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

The lagoon is about 1,300 acres in space (about 500 football fields) and has a circumference of five kilometers. It looks like a large lagoon, almost like a small lake. Around the lagoon, there is a lot of nature and some wildlife. This includes trees, bushes, plants, horses (I've only once seen a few wild ones), insects and birds. Amidst nature at the lagoon, there are many activities that are open year-round and free to members of the community. Some include fishing locations, playgrounds, walking/running/biking paths, a children's train, soccer fields, a community swimming pool and many picnic tables and locations where people can have an asado (an Argentine barbeque/cookout). There is even a small restaurant on the lagoon on an island!

How did I feel when I saw it?:

When I visited the Lagoon for the first time and for the many visits I have had since I have felt a strong sense of community.
