Traveler Bio

My name is Rebekah Williams, but I also go by Bekah. I am 26 years old and I am from Wayne County, Indiana. One of my favorite things to do growing up in Indiana was playing kickball with my brothers and cousins. I stayed in Indiana to earn my Associate's degree at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne.

After I graduated with a degree in organizational leadership, I decided to take a "gap year" and work at a non-profit in California called the Dream Center. Through my experience working in Los Angeles, I learned that I loved teaching. When I finished my year at the Dream Center, I moved back to Indiana and got my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in teaching English Language Learners at Indiana University East. After college and a couple of years of teaching in the United States, I knew I wanted to teach internationally sometime, so I applied to the Peace Corps.

Now I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Rwanda, Africa. I am currently supporting a Teacher Training College (TTC) and primary teachers at a nearby primary school with teaching practices and the English language. I am so excited to share about Rwanda and the lovely people here. Let's go!
