I am really excited to introduce my co-teacher and good friend Chao Mei Ru, or Helen! She is the person with whom I work most closely in Taiwan. She has always gone out of her way to help me out while living here. Without her, I would be in a world of trouble.

During the school week, we work together to teach 5th and 6th graders English. This means that we are co-teachers so in one classroom. We have two teachers working together.

Helen is married! She has a grown-up daughter and a granddaughter. Her English is really excellent; if you just met her, I don’t think that you would know that she was a non-native speaker, unless she told you. I am really lucky to have Helen as my friend and co-teacher in Taiwan. Do you have a foreign friend?

Below are the interview questions that I asked Helen. Please feel free to give some questions to your teacher that you want me to ask Helen next time.

Q: What is your name?

A: Chao Mei Ru or Helen

Q: What is your job?

A: I am an English teacher for the 5th and 6th grade at Jian Guo Elementary School. I also have some administrative duties such as working with Bobby on the Fulbright ETA program.

Q: How long have you been teaching?

A: I have been teaching for sixteen years.
