Traveler Bio

Hello everyone! I'm Ruben! I'm currently a junior studying mathematics and economics. My aim is to build a network with a wide diversity of individuals in order to build long-lasting connections. I arrived in Costa Rica in early September, and I'm enjoying every minute of it! I made numerous friends and relationships through quick interactions and saw many beautiful sceneries from my travels around the country. This environment really allows you to feel free and welcomed by its citizens, where I always feel safe and entertained. One of my main worries was not making friends during my time here, but that was certainly not the case with the fantastic group of friends I met! My friends always think of one another and desire to do activities together, considering that no one from my school tagged along with me and this really is a solo trip. The moral of the story is to never lose an opportunity in life due to doubts. My hobbies include hanging with friends, playing video games and enjoying peaceful, outside time to take my mind off things. I'm from Harlem, New York, and I'm Dominican and Haitian. I hope my experience encourages others to travel and experience a whole new culture and environment, as it is most rewarding. Talk to you soon!
