Auf Wiedersehen "Goodbye" from Heidelberg

So, while over here, I realized how similar German and American labs are in terms of their operations. It is exciting that there is a current focus in Germany to usher in further innovation in the sciences, particularly in the entrepreneurial sector (i.e. start-up companies).

Being a Fulbrighter has enabled me to travel more and experience diverse cultures through food and fun! For instance, I had so much fun trying authentic Belgian waffles in the medieval city of Bruges, Belgium. I also loved experiencing free public transportation in Luxembourg while visiting important EU institutions as part of the Fulbright EU-NATO Seminar. In Germany, alone, I have visited multiple cities--from hustling and bustling Frankfurt to the cozy spa town of Baden-Baden nestled at the edge of the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) region. I am truly grateful for such experiences, as I have come to realize how much a study-abroad opportunity like the Fulbright can broaden your horizons regarding the world around you.

I wish you all well, and I hope you, too, will one day make your way overseas to experience living and studying in another country--I truly believe this experence could change your life!
