My friend has played the violin since childhood, and she and her ensemble did a fantastic job at their winter concert. They played L' Arlesienne by Georges Bizet for their encore, and this is one of my all-time favorite musical pieces!
Although not from this week, I did recently visit the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) in the city of Koblenz, Rheinland-Pfalz. The Deutsches Eck is a monument signifying the confluence of two major rivers in Germany: the Rhine and Moselle. A cool fact about the Deutsches Eck is that it has the flags of all the bundeslander (states) of Germany to represent national unity.
