I arrived this past Friday so I traveled all the way from New York to Lyon (3,817 miles!). Since then, I have mostly stayed within the city proper within walking distance of my host family's apartment. The distance from the university to the apartment is about 1.5 miles (30 minute walk), but it feels much faster when walking along the beautiful Rhône river.
Between all my walking from this week as well as my long flight from New York, I have traveled approximately 3,850 miles!
In order to arrive in Lyon, I took two flights (the first from New York to Dublin, the second from Dublin to Lyon) and then I took a train from the airport to the city where I met my host family and the other Dartmouth students on my trip. The remainder of this week, I walked and explored the city on foot!
Since I haven't been here for too long, the most interesting place I visited was the Lyon Zoo, but I also really enjoyed simply walking around Lyon. Walking to school each day along the Rhône river is beautiful! The river is lined with boats that turn into restaurants in the night and there are even a few ducks in the water.
