Hi! My name is Ryan, and I’m from the United States. I grew up in South Carolina and just graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where I studied Political Science and German. During my time at Macalester, I was very involved in campus life as a student government leader, a Senior Resident Assistant, and even the Senior Commencement Speaker for my class.
Teaching and working with young people has been a big part of my journey so far. I’ve taught in classrooms, supported summer programs, and worked on education projects in my community. I’m passionate about learning how schools work around the world and how education can open doors for people.
Travel has also played a huge role in my life. I’ve lived and studied in Germany before, and I’ve had the chance to visit other parts of Europe. I love experiencing new cultures -- whether that means trying local food, exploring cities by train, or going to soccer games with local fans.
Now, I’m excited to spend a full year in Aschaffenburg, Germany, as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. Here, I’ll be helping students improve their English while also learning from them about German history, culture, and everyday life.
