It celebrates Welsh heritage, culture and language, bringing pride and unity to Welsh communities. I plan to attend the parade with my friends in just a few weeks!
The holiday is celebrated on March 1st because it is when the majority of daffodils bloom in Wales and when leeks are at the peak of their season. Daffodils are the national flower of Wales and leeks are the national emblem. I noticed lots of daffodils starting to sprout in the local park, bunches of the yellow flowers even being sold at the local markets.
