Have you ever eaten at someone else’s house and noticed they make food a little differently? When you live in a new city, you might not always find the foods you are craving. But if you are an adventurer, you may discover that different can be delicious!
During my journey in Italy, I have eaten some of the best pizza of my life. My favorite food back home is actually pepperoni pizza. I was surprised (and a little sad!) that many restaurants did not serve pepperoni while I was here.
I still wanted something cheesy, so I decided to try a slice with prosciutto. Prosciutto is a type of ham that Italians use in many dishes, including pizza.
Even though it was not what I planned, I gave it a try.
I loved it! It was so good that I ate another slice… and even took one home for later. Trying something new turned into one of my favorite food memories in Rome.
The funny thing is, the dessert in my picture was also something that I had never seen before. It looked a little like a Twinkie, but it tasted even better!
