Salut (Hi)! My name is Sarah, and I’m 19 years old. I’m from Ocean City, New Jersey, but I left to study International Studies and Legal Studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Since I grew up on the Jersey Shore, I love going to the beach and taking long walks across the sand to watch the waves. Evanston is near lake Michigan, so when I’m at university, I can still go to the beach and watch the water.
I’m currently in Geneva, Switzerland, and I was very excited to learn that here, I also live five minutes away from the lake--and so my walks continue! However the view here is very different. From my street, I can see the Jet D’eau (or Water Jet) that sprays 130 gallons of water per second, 490 feet high! I chose to study in Geneva because I am trying to learn French (pouvez-vous lire ça?). Along with learning a new language, I will be studying public international law, and interning for an NGO (non-governmental organization) that supports international artists. Of course, much of my time here in Switzerland will be spent eating fondue and making new friends. I will also be traveling to different cities and countries surrounding Geneva. I am very excited to share my trip with you and hear what you all think!
