I traveled about 4 miles each way when going to London parks or school/work at Imperial College London. This takes about 40 minutes each way by foot and public transportation, so I spend about 1 hour 20 min commuting every day. Then I traveled about 45 miles south from London to my weekend stay in Brighton, which took another 1 hour 20 min on the train. That means I traveled a total of 85 miles around London and to Brighton this week, which took about 8 hours total!
So far on this journey, I've traveled to Birmingham, York, Edinburgh, Brighton, and around London. Birmingham and York are in the middle of the UK. Edinbrough is up north in Scotland while Brighton as in the South of England.
This week I got around by foot, the “tube” (which is the underground metro system in London), and the train.
The most interesting place I visited this week was Abney Park Cemetery Trust. It’s a woodland memorial park rich with history and beautiful nature. Wandering around its many paths, I discovered a restored chapel and a memorial for William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army.
