Getting From Place to Place

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

In order for me to get to and from Grado and my two high schools, I usually take a bus that goes straight to Grado and drops me off right outside my schools. The best part about getting the bus every day is that I have gotten to know the bus drivers very well. The first time I tried to get on and off the bus to Grado, I was very nervous because I didn't know how many stops I had to go and how long my trip would be. However, now that I've taken the bus for the last month, I know how long my rides will be, my bus drivers know me by face and they also know where to drop me off.

Another way I can get to and from the schools is by driving with the teachers who work at my school. This is great because I get to practice my Spanish with my co-workers as well as get to know them more on a personal level. While I'm not expected to contribute money to the gas expenses, I plan to bring some small gifts for my teachers in the future to show my gratitude for the free rides.

I mostly walk around Oviedo because it's such a walkable city. I can get anywhere around the city within a 30-minute walk, though this also depends on the traffic and what time I get out and walk around. If the location I want to go to is too far for me to walk, or if it's up some big hills, then I will use the public buses. Bus tickets are very cheap, and the buses are always quite clean.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Because Asturias is in the green belt of Spain, they put a huge emphasis on the environment. Many of the buses are considered environmentally-friendly because they use less gas and emit fewer fumes.
