What happens when we are returning to a site where we have drilled before? It's basically the same process, but we attach a camera to the drill pipe so we can find the pre-existing hole and carefully thread the drill bit back into it. We always leave a labeled cone at old drilling sites, both so we can easily find them again and so to keep the hole from collapsing in on itself!
