Scottish Coos

Introduction:

Scottish Highland cows, or "coos" as they are called in Scotland, look like giant teddy bears in the countryside. But these fluffy friends are more than just cute. They have been part of Scottish life for hundreds of years and they are so strong! In this nature field note, we will explore what Scottish cows look like, where they live and what they eat. Let's moo-ve closer and meet these special animals! Are you ready to say hello to the coos?

What does this creature or plant look like?:

Scottish Highland coos are famous for their large horns and shaggy coats. Their beautiful coats are usually reddish-brown, but they can also be black, blonde or gray. They have long bangs that make them look like they have a fluffy hairstyle. They have thick coats of fur to keep them warm in Scotland's cold, wet and windy weather. When you get close, you can hear them moo!

How did I feel when I saw it?:

When I got to see the Scottish coos; I thought they were so adorable! I am obsessed with all things animal, and these coos look like giant teddy bears with their fluffiness. I was excited to see these animals for myself because they are so different from the cows I have seen before. I was so happy to be able to safely pet their soft fur!
