Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

Korea has a style of music called trot. It is very catchy however many young Koreans like you would say it is music their grandma listens to. It is very popular among older Koreans, but I like it because it is fun to dance to.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun I had this week was my visit to a palace. In South Korea, the castles and palaces are different from the ones we see at home. In Asia, the emperors and kings created their palaces in a different style. It was fun because I explored the history of Korea. It was like walking back in time with kings, princesses and knights!

What did I read this week?:

I have read many stories about Korean history this week. One of my favorites is the story about the founder of Korea, Tangun (tan goon). In this tale or myth, a female bear prayed to a god to become human. After 21 days, the bear turned into a human and married the god. After Tagun was born and founded Korea. It is a very interesting story.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any games this week, but I did go to a fun cheering practice. Can you imagine learning fun cheers, songs and dances before a football game? That is just what this was! In the summer, my university has a large sports event, and all the students come together to cheer our school with these cheers.

Other news from this week:

Something interesting was that I met someone from my school in Dallas all the way in South Korea. We even go to the same school!
