Traveler Bio

Hello! My name is Shanice, and I’m from Dallas, Texas. I’m a college student at the University of North Texas, and right now I’m living and studying in Seoul, South Korea!

I was borm on a small island in the Caribbean, and I always loved to go to the beach, ziplining, and snockering with my friends. In my spare time, I love learning about different cultures and how people live around the world. I love going to different festivals and markets that celebrate world cultures to try new foods and learn about their history. In my free time, I also love writing stories and journaling. I have written a few fantasy books that I like to share among my friends to read together. Trying new foods, singing, visiting cafés, designing creative projects, and learning about history and global issues are a few of the other things I also enjoy doing. One of my favorite things to do on Sundays is teaching younger kids and youths at my local church, which made me excited to share what I learn with students like you!

I chose South Korea because it is a place where modern cities and old traditions exist together. When I was younger, I loved exploring different asian cultures, and South Korea was the one I enjoyed the most. I am very excited to have the chance to study and live there. When I am there, I want to learn what school is like for students here, how families spend time together, and how culture affects everyday life. I’m especially interested in how people communicate, show respect, and work together. In the future, I hope to work in diplomacy one day and helping countries understand each other. It is a strong passion of mine having cultures open and welcoming to one another.

I cannot wait to share my experience with you about their food, school, transportation, holidays, and fun activities there is to enjoy. I want to show you what daily life looks like and how it may be similar to, and probably a bit different your life at home. I cannot wait to share this journey with you!
