こんにちは、みんな！ Hello! My name is Shechinah (She-Kai-Na) and I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I've always loved art, languages, classical/orchestral/medieval music and films. I see these things as the main ways to communicate with everyone around the world, and I want to make films in various languages as a result. After watching some of the Japanese films my family had, I thought the language was so beautiful that I had to learn it and work in Japan on movies or TV shows like the ones I had watched. In order to create an international film business, I am doing a triple major in international business, film and video production, and Japanese.
After finding a study abroad program that had a host family option, I applied for and received the Gilman Scholarship, which is making it possible for me to live in Japan and share my experiences with you. While I'm in Japan, I will be working on a film to share my study abroad experience with everyone, especially those who feel like experiences like these are out of reach.
