To get from my home to San Jose, it takes about five hours. First, I get a ride from my house to the bus stop, which is a 10-minute drive from my house. Next, I take a two-hour bus ride to San Ramon. Then, I take an hour-and-a-half bus ride to San Jose. After that, I take an Uber to my final destination. It can be a pretty tiring journey!
After a meeting to get my resident card and a doctor's appointment, I'll journey back to my site on Tuesday!
Once in San Jose, my friends and I usually use Uber to get around as they're safe, quick and cheap.
On our day off from training, I visited the Costa Rican Art Museum. It has over 6,000 pieces of art! My favorite work was the Golden Room on the second floor. The room contains a mural that displays Costa Rica's history through 1940. Fun fact: the building used to be an airport, and the Golden Room used to be the airport lounge.
